Creative Careers fair
Create Your Career Event is a student-aimed event running during Design Week. It runs on Tuesday, November 6 from 12:00-16:00 at the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) in Kilmainham, Dublin.
This will be the first such event run as a collaboration between a number of Careers Services of third level colleges throughout the country which offer courses related to design and the arts. This event will be generously facilitated by IMMA.
The Institute of Designers are one of a number of professional organizations attending the fair to help and advise design students. Individuals, companies and professional organizations are also participating to give students the benefit of their knowledge as well as experience of current trends. Lorraine Egan MIDI will be one of the presenters on the day, facilitating a workshop on Working as a designer in industry.
The focus of this Creative Careers Fair will be on information and networking for design and art students. As an increasing number of design and art students go onto postgraduate studies, the different design colleges have been invited to participate in this event. Market research among Irish design students has indicated that there will be considerable interest in this event, and that up to one thousand students will attend the Fair.
