DESIGN WEEK EVENT - KILKENNY
SEMI-BOLD PRESENT 'CARTOON SALOON'
This event sees a presentation to finish DESIGN WEEK 06 by the multi-award winning Irish animation company ‘Cartoon Saloon’. They will talk us through their approach to the animation process followed by a tour of their studios in the Maltings, Kilkenny.
Employing 70 people, Cartoon Saloon specialises in original, high quality animation projects for television, advertising, film and multi-media. Their first feature film – Brendan and the book of Kells – will be released in 2008 and their children’s cartoon series – Skunk Fu! – will be seen on television networks around the world in early 2007. There will be drinks following the presentation.
Semi-bold has been set up by 3sixtymarketing, AK Graphics and Penhouse Design, who are affiliated to GDBA (the Graphic Design Business Association) and the IDI (Institute of Designers in Ireland). SEMI-BOLD is aiming to promote and stimulate an exciting design presence in the Midlands and South East of Ireland.
