IDI President and Immediate Past President present Awards at the 6th Digital Media Awards
Winners of the 6th Digital Media Awards were announced at a gala ceremony in the Crowne Plaza Hotel on the 7th February 2008. IDI President Tracy Fahey presented the award for Best Non-Commercial Web-Site for Powerofone.ie, submitted by Agency.com and Immediate Past President Cameron Ross presented the prize for Best Digital Film or Animation for Ding Dong Denny O’Reilly’s History of Ireland, submitted by Brown Bag Films, which also won the Gran Prix Award.
MC Dave Fanning presided over a crowd of 500 digital media professionals. Minister Eamon Ryan, T.D. attended the ceremony as guest of honour.
Brown Bag Films took home the award for Best Digital Film or Animation, for their film Ding Dong Denny O’Reilly’s History of Ireland, as well as the overall Grand Prix. Digital advertising agencies also enjoyed great success, with ICAN, Cybercom and Agency.com all taking home awards. Blogger Fiona McPhillips won the award for blogging, Phantom 105.2FM won Best Entertainment Content (Mobile or Website) and UPC Ireland won Best Internet Service Provider.
