Interior Design 08 Design Awards: winners announced
Winner of Best Public and Commercial Space goes to IDI member Elizabeth Kirby.
The best of interior design was recognised at the RDS, as Amanda Cochrane, Editor, IMAGE Interiors, and chair of the judging panel announced the winners of the Design Awards 08.
For their work on The Father Matthew Hall on behalf of Buro Happold, the award for Best Public and Commercial Space went to Elizabeth Kirby MIDI & Naomi Keatley of RKD Architects. The judges were particularly impressed by this firm’s bold use of colour and how this listed building was transformed into a modern functional space with an inherent sensitivity to the building’s structure.
There were more entries to this category than any other. Therefore, John Henry-Boyle MIDI from 21 Spaces received a special mention for their entry The Real Gourmet Bar in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4.
All winning entries were displayed at the Image Interiors stand at Interior Design 08 and on www.interiordesign08.ie
